1. Kapaleeswarar Temple
Kapaleeswarar Temple was built by the Pallavas in the 7th century. It is dedicated to Arulmigu Kapleeshwar, incarnation of Lord Shiva and Goddess Karpagambal, incarnation of Goddess Parvati. The temple is a classic example of Dravidian style architecture comprising beautiful stone and wood carvings and decorated pillars and a Gopuram at the entrance.
2. Parthasarathy Temple
One of the favorites amongst the Venkateswara devotees, Parthasarathy temple built in the 8th century is known for its beautiful sculptures and inscriptions of events happened during the battle of Kurukshetra. The temple is dedicated to Lord Vishnu and is home to its 4 avatars – Krishna, Varaha, Rama and Narasimha.
3. Sri Vadapalani Andavar Temple
The temple was constructed in 1890 by Annaswami Nayakar and is dedicated to Lord Muruga. The idol is in standing posture and it resembles Palani Muruga. The temple is popular for hosting marriage ceremonies.
4. Marundheeswarar Temple
Marundheeswarar Temple was built around the 11th century. The principle deity Marundheeswarar, form of Lord Shiva is known to be the “healer of all ailments”.
